Members of the Nevis delegation at World Travel Market 2008 in London celebrated the upcoming British Airways service from Gatwick to St. Kitts and Nevis beginning on January 10 with a champagne reception which honored Adam Daniels, head of Leisure Sales for British Airways.
A large number of the international media attended the event as well as leading tour operators from Europe and the UK. Everyone enjoyed a special performance by the Manchester-based St. Kitts and Nevis Masqueraders and Clowns.
The introduction of the weekly Saturday service from Gatwick to St. Kitts will be the first time an established UK carrier has operated a regular service to the destination. Asked for her comments, Ms. Thompson-Hendrickson said, "We are delighted to welcome BA passengers to the Federation and are encouraged that BA supports our efforts to promote high-end tourism on Nevis. Our hoteliers are already experiencing an increasing number of inquiries and bookings as a result of this new service."
BA will operate the 280-seat Boeing 777 aircraft with three classes which will feature 40 Club World seats, 24 World Traveler Plus seats and 216 World Traveler seats. The Gatwick service will provide easy access for other UK and European cities served by British Airways.
